Terms and conditions
These General Terms and Conditions are intended to regulate the terms and conditions under which the Fundação José Saramago store, a legal entity with Tax Identification Number 508209307, with registered office at Casa dos Bicos, Rua dos Bacalhoeiros, 10 – 1100-135 Lisbon, (hereinafter “FJS”) will operate.
FJS's service consists of making available and providing a set of products and/or services, in order to allow the user, who is granted the status of client, to order and purchase the products presented on it online. By using FJS, you fully accept and agree to all the parameters present in the Terms and Conditions described, as well as the Privacy Policy in effect at the time you access FJS.
If you do not accept, in whole or in part, any of the stipulated conditions, you should not make purchases at FJS. By accessing FJS, you are committing and taking responsibility for respecting the conditions set forth on this page and in the Privacy Policy.
FJS reserves the right to update and change the Terms and Conditions without prior notice. It is advisable to periodically check the Terms and Conditions to ascertain any changes or updates or for product and pricing information. .
FJS informs customers about the characteristics, descriptions, images, or videos of each product and/or service on each page provided. FJS is committed to making its products and/or services available in a clear manner and to correcting any errors that may occur as quickly as possible.
FJS presents, in a concise manner, the prices of each product and/or service, including VAT, shipping costs applied to each order, and any other additional costs that may apply.
Information regarding products, prices, content, images, videos, promotional campaigns, and services may be updated and changed by FJS at any time.
Intellectual property
FJS is a registered online store, and the service provided is the responsibility of FJS.
The content, domain, and information present and available on FJS are its property or have been granted to it, and are therefore protected by copyright and related rights. Any and all use, reproduction, copying, or dissemination of visual, audiovisual, or written content is subject to prior approval by FJS.
The client agrees to fully respect the aforementioned conditions and rights, as well as to refrain from acts that may violate the law, such as copyright, related rights, and other legislation applicable to the use of images, videos, content, etc., without the express approval of FJS. FJS cannot be held responsible for any misuse of such products.
Payment method
FJS offers the following payment methods:
Credit or Debit Card
After payment is completed, FJS will perform a standard verification process to process and ship the order. The customer will receive an email confirming that the order has been paid.
Purchase conditions at FJS, product availability: all products and/or services available at FJS can be purchased, except in cases of stock shortages or limitations, as well as for products made to order, whose availability may vary.
Products may become unavailable without prior notice, but in such circumstances, FJS will clearly identify this.
If the product becomes unavailable after the purchase has been completed, FJS undertakes to contact the customer, by telephone or email, as soon as possible in order to expedite the process with them.
Fees and taxes
At FJS, the prices shown are in EURO, and the applicable VAT and taxes are applied in accordance with current law, and are already included in the price shown.
- Order cancellation
The customer may cancel an order while it is being processed. Please inform FJS via the following email address: loja@josesaramago.org
If the cancellation request is made after the order has been shipped, it will be sent for delivery. The customer may return the order and will be refunded by FJS using the same payment method.
FJS is not responsible for any delays in processing order cancellations. FJS reserves the right not to process orders or refunds in cases of data inconsistency, fraud, or customer misconduct, as well as for technical issues beyond FJS's control.
Free Resolution
The customer has the right to terminate the contract within 14 (fourteen) days from the date of conclusion of the contract.
If the customer wishes to cancel the contract, they may do so by emailing loja@josesaramago.org.
When canceling the contract within the legal timeframe, in addition to returning the product, the customer must return any promotional offers included with the main product. FJS will refund the amount paid within a maximum of 14 days after receiving the returned order, accompanied by the purchase invoice, proof of payment, and return form.
The refund will be made using the same payment method used by the customer for the initial payment, except in situations of express agreement in which case the customer will not incur any costs as a result of the refund.
Any reimbursement procedure will be processed in accordance with the legislation in force, specifically Decree-Law No. 24/2014.

The customer may submit a complaint regarding any issue, action, information or service provided by FJS by contacting loja@josesaramago.org via email or through the electronic complaints book available at the following link: https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt.
Disclaimer
By creating and using an account on FJS, the customer is responsible for maintaining the account, its confidentiality, and all activity originating from their account. By creating a user account and placing orders, the customer expressly and unequivocally accepts the Terms and Conditions in their most up-to-date version. .
FJS is not responsible for any information disclosed by third parties, technical failures, or any other problems that prevent access to and proper functioning of the online store.
FJS is not responsible for any damages, directly or indirectly related to the use, or inability to use, of the products and/or services provided, nor for any delays or unforeseen events in the delivery of orders.
Applicable law – jurisdiction
This contract is subject to Portuguese law and applicable legislation.
