In 1960, the Estúdios Cor publishing house published the translation of Colette's novel Chéri. The book was included in the Latitude Collection, edited by Nataniel Costa, which already featured other titles by the author.
The cover art was created by Paulo Guilherme.

The copy of the book in the Foundation's Library contains a page from the Brotéria Magazine (Volume 73 — July 1961) where, despite the book being considered "reprehensible from a moral point of view," "the translation of both volumes [Chéri and The End of Chéri, also translated by José Saramago] is good.".
