Portugal – The points in the ii

In 1976, José Saramago translated Jacques Frémontier's essay "Portugal – The Points on the i's," which, as he himself mentions in the introduction, attempts to support the Portuguese Revolution of 1974: "Men who free themselves from such a long dictatorship, who try – despite hesitations, contradictions, and weaknesses – to build a certain socialism, their own, not ours, a socialism with the colors of Portugal, how could a French communist not feel obliged to give them his full support?"“
