In 1956, Europa-América Publishing House published the novel The whistleblower by Liam O'Flaherty, translated from the French by José Saramago. The book belongs to the 20th Century Collection and the cover is by Sebastião Rodrigues.
In the same year the novel was published, in 1925, he was awarded the James Taitlack Prize. "An admirable book that has all the qualities of privileged works that are read once and never forgotten," as described by those responsible for the Portuguese edition.
